San Francisco Giants Sign Mark Melancon

It's been a good week for the San Francisco Giants. The club signed closer, Mark Melancon to a four year, $62 million contract. The Giants had pursued Melancon last season before the trade deadline, but were outbid for his services.

The Giants already have a very good bullpen. A reliable closer was a missing piece of the puzzle which cost them, especially late in the season and in the playoffs. No point in elaborating on those lost saves. Baseball is like other things in life. At some point you move on and the signing of Melancon is just that.

The Giants can thank Ryan Vogelsong for singing the praises for the Giants front office. You can read and listen to Bobby Evans explains the trade to Alex Pavlovic by visiting CSN Bay Area. Just click HERE. The family atmosphere of the club seems to be a hit with most players and they take that attitude with them, even after being traded.

Why did Mark Melancon decide to take the Giants offer when he had other options. A big part of the decision was the clubs determination to win. Read and listen to MLB story on Giants 2017 plans. Just click HERE.

Some of the Giants top prospects will begin the 2017 season in Sacramento, Ca playing for the Rivercats. Check it out at MLB story and video. Just click HERE.

Go Melancon! Go Giants!!!
