After an eight game winning streak the Giants took it in the shorts Friday night losing 8-1. Jake Peavy had a rough night and did not last long. Fast forward less than 24 hours and the Giants are fully clothed again.
Matt Cain took the mound in a matchup against Jon Lester and it was Cain who looked like an ace of spades. The win was important, but to see Matt look like the pitcher before dealing with bone spurs was joyous. Cain has gone through a lot. Only the most loyal fans thought he could have a strong performance against a solid team like the Cubs.
Madison Bumgarner is on the mound Sunday for game three in the series vs Kyle Hendricks.
